Paul Hiller”), framed and glazed, oval, c. 10.5 x 9.5 cms.

The fifteen-year-old Ferdinand Hiller was taken to see Beethoven by Hummel; he recorded his visits in “Aus dem Tonleben unserer Zeit” (1871: see Thayer, pp. 1044ff).
